Technology & Appraising

Presented by Thom Underwood, ASA & Lynn Sharpe-Underwood
Quantum Leap Software Solutions & San Diego Gem Lab
Before & After Office Organization

What technology REALLY means to the modern profession of appraising...

The implementation of specific technology can ease the demands of gems and jewelry appraising while improving accuracy, appraiser confidence, business marketing, and our bottom line. Join us in discussing...

  • Important issues facing anyone making the leap from word processing to appraisal specific software,
  • The need for flexibility to tackle any appraisal assignment including appropriate report content & formatting, &
  • The requirements of individualized custom layouts.

Thom & Lynn will demonstrate the integration of digital imaging, gem pricing data (i.e. The Guide and Rapaport), digital colored gemstone color grading with Gem eWizard (GIA Square), the integration of external instruments such as Sarin and, of course, onscreen plotting.
