Guest Speaker Mike Aguirre
Sworn in as San Diego City Attorney on December 6, 2004, Michael Aguirre's legal career spans three decades as a federal prosecutor, fraud victim trial attorney, municipal law expert, U.S. Senate investigator, and public interest lawyer.
A lifelong San Diegan, Mr. Aguirre is an energetic community volunteer and has represented numerous individuals and organizations in pro bono cases involving the public interest, including late labor leader Cesar Chavez of the United Farm Worker's Union.
The City Attorney is a marathon runner. As of 2006, he has run a total of 21 marathons, including all 11 Rock n' Roll Marathons in San Diego.
